what is the difference between the hadeeth: may the slave of the gold and the silver perish and the hadeeth cure your illnesses or sick by giving charity

Q.The person is asking: what is the difference between the hadeeth: may the slave of the gold and the silver perish and the hadeeth cure your illnesses or sick by giving charity? If the person does so i.e. they give charity for a cure, are they considered a slave of the wealth and the likes?

A.The shaykh said no, they are not considered so and there is no contradiction between the two hadeeths. Because in one hadeeth you have an individual giving charity and they seek the reward from Allaah and in the other hadeeth you have individuals that are doing things merely to be given wealth (gold, silver and clothing). The shaykh mentioned in the hadeeth itself it says if the only reason the person does the action is so that they can get the wealth or clothing and if they don’t they become extremely upset and the reality is this. This is like an individual and there is a ruler that the oath should be given to so the person who wants to give the oath to the a ruler, if the ruler gives him money he gives the oath and if the ruler does not give him the money he does not give him the oath and he goes against the ruler. So he will not give the ruler any of his rights except that he receives the wealth from the ruler. So anything and everything with regards to his life is that he gets wealth and money and if he doesn’t get it then he is not willing to give anything.
